Brian Grant

Brian Grant is a former Division I college baseball player and a dedicated hitting specialist who brings a deep understanding of offensive development to every session. Known for his consistent performance, he batted over .400 throughout high school and has spent years refining his craft to help young hitters unlock their full potential. Brian works closely with athletes on swing mechanics, approach, and confidence at the plate, blending technical expertise with game-day mental preparation. His son, BJ Grant, is currently ranked No. 15 in Texas, a testament to the proven methods Brian uses to develop talent within his own home and across the program.

Christian Smith

Chris Smith starred at Bellaire High School, where his standout performance earned him attention and recruitment from the Minnesota Twins. After high school, he continued his love for the game through competitive adult leagues and by giving back to local youth programs, including Bellaire Little League. Chris is known for teaching strong fundamentals, encouraging mental toughness, and instilling a true passion for baseball in his players. His leadership is rooted in years of hands-on experience and a genuine commitment to helping kids grow on and off the field.

Edgar Hinojosa

Edgar Hinojosa is a proven leader in youth baseball, currently guiding a successful program out of Katy for athletes ages 6โ€“12. He is known for building strong foundational skills, competitive instincts, and a love of the game at an early age. Under his leadership, teams consistently show growth in both performance and confidence. This spring, Edgar and the Katy Hype will join forces with Klean Swings, bringing his track record of player development and winning culture to strengthen opportunities for younger athletes.

Jason Conway

Jason Conway, a Bellaire High School alum, holds a Sports Management degree from the University of Kansas and specializes in pitching development. Drawing on both his academic background and practical experience, Jason trains pitchers in mechanics, control, and game strategy, while also mentoring them on how to stay healthy and strong through the demands of the season. His work with the Houston Astros organization provides a direct connection to current professional standards and training techniques, giving players access to cutting-edge pitching philosophies and preparation.

Brandon Mitchell

Brandon Mitchell is an active pitcher in the Atlanta Braves affiliate system, bringing current professional playing experience directly to the players he coaches. Brandon specializes in helping young pitchers refine velocity, accuracy, and mound presence while also sharing insights on what it takes to compete at the next level. His ability to connect with athletes and translate professional-level instruction into actionable, age-appropriate training makes him an invaluable resource for aspiring pitchers.

Erik Rodriguez

Erik Rodriguez pitched professionally in the Detroit Tigers system and became a standout with the Sultanes de Monterrey, one of the premier teams in the Mexican Professional League. His career experience at the international and professional levels brings a unique perspective to young players training abroad. Erik focuses on elite pitching mechanics, competitive mindset, and adapting to higher levels of play, making him a key resource for athletes aiming to compete beyond local leagues and tournaments.

David McDaniel

David McDaniel brings decades of elite-level baseball experience and unmatched MLB connections to the program. He previously served as Head of Scouting for the Detroit Tigers and coached in the Boston Red Sox minor league system with the Skeeters, giving him an insiderโ€™s perspective on what it takes to play professionally. In Houston, David was a primary assistant at Kinkaid High School and now serves as Head Coach at Houston Christian High School. His relationships with professional scouts, college recruiters, and MLB players give him the ability to open doors for athletes with next-level aspirations. Davidโ€™s training is tailored for players aged 13โ€“18, helping them refine their game, understand the recruiting process, and stand out in showcases and college evaluations.
